Richie Prior & Ayesha Wood
Born in Enfield, North London, Richie worked as a Redcoat at Butlins and moved to Mallorca in 1990 as a holiday rep. He Joined Pirates in 1994 and is the 2nd longest serving staff member. He was in the show until 2007 and his famed “fatman on fire” routine is now part of Pirate legend!
He’s married to Rachael and has 2 boys Jacob,10 and Jude, 7. In 2011, Richie decided to launch an online and mobile Radio station called Radio One Mallorca. In 2012, Radio One Mallorca launched on its own frequency, 105.6fm, across the island of Mallorca. Along with his radio wife Ayesha, he presents the Breakfast Show Monday to Friday 07.30-11.00. A massive Arsenal fan, he spends his time between the radio, Pirates and his family.
Ayesha´s from Outer London, Richmond… well actually Feltham but Richmond sounds nicer, as if you know the area you´ll straight away think about “Borstal”! She´s always had a love of dancing and that’s what she did when she came out to the fair island of Mallorca in 2000! After dancing and managing other dancers in various clubs for four years, Ayesha hung up her dancing shoes in 2004. She then moved on to running an exclusive VIP Club in Puerto Portals where she mixed and mingled with a variety of interesting people. Always looking for the next thing Ayesha with a close friend set up their own events company and for a few years were behind the best and most exclusive VIP parties in Mallorca, which suited her as she loves a party! It was in 2011 she got a call from her now radio husband Mr Richard Prior asking her to join him on the Breakfast Show….. the rest is fun-filled radio history! Not shy of work and not being able to sit still for a minute, Ayesha also promotes sales in the South of Mallorca for Pirates Adventure and Pirates Reloaded. If you haven’t seen it yet, book now ;-)! She embraces her dyslexia and is optimistic beyond belief…the glass is always half full, which again is strange as she loves a drink, or 2, or 3! Tough Mudders, charity, football, boxing and obviously socialising are high on her list of things to do. Her laugh is loud and infectious – listen in to the Breakfast Show and you too will be laughing, it really is the only way to start the day!
